As the first School Dog at Leintwardine Primary School Ben set a very high bar.  He had changed the minds of many of our school community children and teachers included about the benefit and responsiveness of dogs.  Many who were scared of dogs are new dog lovers due to him.  Children and staff  have been calmed by his presence, found arriving at school easier and have thoroughly enjoyed being with him.  

Sadly during the Easter holidays Ben passed away in his sleep.  He had had a heart condition for most of his life which meant that his heart worked a little harder.   He will be greatly missed.  He would be proud to know that this will not be the end of a school dog at Leintwardine, and we will be training a new dog to follow in his footsteps.
